4 Card Poker Rules

Four Card Poker is a poker variation that was developed by ShuffleMaster legend Roger Snow. The game uses a 52-card deck on a Blackjack-type table and offers players two different bets. Players can make an Ante bet to compete against the dealer or a Play/Raise bet. Both bets must be made in $5 increments. If the player loses against the dealer, the ante bet is lost. Likewise, if the player wins, the player is paid the Ante Bonus.

In 4 Card Poker, the dealer is dealt six cards. He or she then discards the bottom two and shows the top three. Using the five cards that are revealed, the dealer determines the best 4-card hand. A dealer qualifies for a paid Bonus if he or she makes three of a kind. Any pair of aces or better is paid to the player. However, the dealer’s hand is not used when grading other hands.

If the player loses against the dealer, they can either fold or take their ante and raise bets. If the dealer beats the player, the dealer wins and the player loses both bets.

Unlike other poker games, 4-card poker rules allow the player to bet up to three times the Ante. However, the minimum bet on the game is equal to the original bet. It is also possible to place an “Aces Up” bet, which pays out to the player if they have a pair of aces. Besides, players can win the ante bonus if they have a high hand.

When the dealer is ready, he or she deals the remaining four cards. Afterwards, players must decide whether they want to play against the dealer or against the table of odds. This decision is crucial since it determines how much the player is betting. The table of odds allows the player to bet on the dealer’s hand or a combination of dealer and other players’ hands.

The game of Four Card Poker is simple and easy to understand. It is not complicated and does not require special attire. Despite the lack of complicated strategies, it is a fun and exciting game. Whether you have never played before or are an experienced player, you can learn how to play the game with the help of a few proven strategies. These tips will guide you through the game and minimize your losses.

One of the most popular 4 card poker strategies is to bet against the dealer. This strategy is especially helpful in games with no qualifying hand, such as Four Card Prime. You can only win the ante bonus if you have a strong hand.

Compared to traditional poker games, the hand rankings of Four Card Poker are more mathematical and are based on the mathematical probability of making a particular hand. For example, the highest ranking hand is a straight flush, and the lowest is a pair of twos or nines.

Despite its simplicity, Four Card Poker rules require skill and patience. This game can be quite thrilling, and it requires the player to make a decision on whether they want to play or fold.
